LOCAL SPOTLIGHT: CAMDEN SMITH
There are a lot of great musicians in the world. Something I hear often is that we need to go over the top to support locals to help them cut through the noise because there are so many people making music these days. I’ve never been one to hurl support at anyone just because they happen to live in the same town as me. Rather, I support people that are putting out good music and doing everything they can to go about this business the right way — investing in their craft, putting on killer shows, building up awesome teams of musicians to back them up, networking, and most importantly treating people well. Camden Smith is one of those people. He moves at a level that is well beyond his years. If you get a chance, check out one of his shows sometime. He is someone that’s impressed me and many others around town… And he’s in high school which makes what he’s doing all that more impressive.
Its an honor to lend what resources I have to support someone that is both local and doing things the right way. I can’t wait to see what the kid does throughout his career!
